Jack,

I checked some the pages at our CarltonSigns web site and the page titles, keywords and descriptions all have the same text in them. Why is this?

If the keywords and descriptions are not correct in words being spidered, code not correct, etc., sounds like this is a step backward toward better placement on search engines rather than moving forward when spiders come along. You mentioned some of the links you installed have us being spidered multiple times daily, I would like to take advantage of this and not be passed over because of some description, keyword not matching what is on page(so) that are to be spidered and ranked.

Please let me know if you are or will be able to take a look and correct any incorrect keywords and descriptions, etc. for our keywords being spidered.

Every time spiders come along, just want to make sure we are positioned to get max placement for words we have online.

When you create a new web page in Dreamweaver using a template page, the default title and descriptions are inserted. When Eric created your new web pages he didn't realize that he needed to match the title and description to page.

The keyword meta tag as it is called is only used by one search engine spider, Inktomi, this is the spider that Yahoo! uses. But if you overuse any words or phrases in the keyword meta tag you can get penalized by any of the search engine spiders or if the keywords do not correctly match the page content then that page may also be penalized.

I generally work from the top down in a web site. Start with the Index or Home page then from there I proceed through the first level of files on the site - these are the files that are linked to from the home page. Then the second level and so on and so on......

Please forget about search engine submission and do not under any circumstances submit the site to any free submission services. If you keep reading about site opitimization you will find this really annoys the search engines. The spiders prefer to find the site naturally from inbound links from other web site, which you already have.
