How's this for an Inconvenient Truth Algore? Sunday, August 19, 2007 (CST)

Now this is an Inconvenient Truth!

The ten hottest years on record in the U.S., beginning with the hottest year, are: 1934, 1998, 1921, 2006, 1931, 1999, 1953, 1990, 1938 and 1939.  Before the revision, that list read: 1998, 1934, 2006, 1921, 1931, 1999, 1953, 2001, 1990 and 1938. This corrected ranking knocked 2001 completely off the top 10 list.

Thanks to the perseverance of one hard-working climate change blogger by the name of Steven McIntyre NASA has been forced to admit its temperature calculations were wrong.  NASA quietly updated its website last week to reflect the corrected data. Maybe it’s just me, but I have not noticed any coverage of this rather significant news story from the Lame Stream Media ( ABC, CBS, NBC, ect…, ect…  ).  If the direction of the correction (pardon my rap) was reversed, say if we had found that the temperatures were actually .15 degrees warmer you can be your sweet ass that this would have been the lead story on every evening newscast.  The “Old Media” would have tramped out every global warming doomsayer that could be found to explain to us simpletons how catastrophic a .5 change in the temperature is going be.  Blah, blah, blah…

This U.S. temperature revision could cause problems for AlGore. AlGore asserted in his global warming film “An Inconvenient Truth” that nine of the ten hottest years in U.S. history occurred since 1995.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
